Janet Cheung, flute
Janet Cheung studied at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam with Harrie Starreveld and Jo Hagen. After graduation, she has worked with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Macao Orchestra, the Wenzhou Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Wind Kamerata,etc. In 2015, she has been appointed as the deputy musician of the Phantom of the Opera in Hong Kong.Janet was invited to play as a soloist in several theaters in Amsterdam, Utrecht and has given recitals in Hong Kong.
Since 2014, Janet formed the Groove Wind Quintet and the Trios Viox (flute, viola and harp). She gives chamber music performance and appears regularly in Le French May, the Hong Kong Museum of Art “The Sound of Art”, the Airport Proms,the Musica del Cuore and the CUHK’s Midday Oasis.
Janet devoted herself to music education, she has been working as an artist in the Stichting Memorabele Momenten in Amsterdam to educate and inspire young children. She is now teaching instrumental classes in schools in Hong Kong and coaching the flute classes of the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra.
